They never actually found any truth, that's what I found frustrating about the series. I liked the series myself.

The image is too depressing, heavy, doesn't truly represent its presence & depiction, despite the sinister edge, the light hasn't being aspected sufficently to off-sett scully & mulder against the eary backdrop.
