oh, Bach was married twice (his first wife died and reportedly he quickly replaced her with Anna Magdalena
"Anna Magdalena Wilcke was an accomplished singer who became J. S. Bach's second wife in December 1721. Their shared interest in music contributed to their happy marriage. Together they raised the children from Johann's first marriage and had 13 children of their own from 1723 to 1742, seven of whom died at a young age."
Handel never married, and had no children
"Handel was a perfectionist with a terrible temper.
He was notorious among other musicians for being demanding and overly strict.
When soprano Francesca Cuzzoni failed to perform his score exactly how he expected, Handel reportedly threatened to throw her out of the window.
While rehearsing Flavio, Handel said more people would pay to see Scottish tenor Alexander Gordon jump onto his harpsichord than hear him sing.
Handel also threatened to withhold a performer’s wages when he said Verdi Prati in Alcina was not suitable for him to sing.
Nobody escaped Handel’s wrath. He even chastised the Prince and Princess of Wales when they arrived late to a preview of oratorios at Carlton House."
Lucille, that's because other composers used his style as a backbone to their own compositions, they've learned from him but added their own personality to it, naturally
Bach is know as a father of baroque music, but perhaps Handel may be more of a kind of a composer for you? I don't like his as much but I like his music
He (Handel) traveled extensively and made himself known to the aristocratic patrons who he knew would fund and support his ambitious ventures. Handel cut his musical teeth as a violinist in the orchestra of Hamburg where they performed many contemporary operas that perhaps contributed to Handel’s own life-long fascination with the genre.
In his early twenties Handel was able to travel to Italy; the home of opera. Handel absorbed the traditions and practices of the great operas at of the time on his travels whilst increasing his standing as a virtuoso performer.
Handel was what might be called a social climber and an opportunist.
Both composers were born in the same year (1685) and have very similar backgrounds
Bach is the greater composer of the two and had no rival to match him then or ever-since
His contemporary colleague Handle wrote to please the public and for his own personal fame but Bach composed to please God, seeking to understand the ultimate creator of music phenomenon
There has been no composer equal to Bach ever, period
My point is; Bach didn't chose a more sober style He reflected what was in his heart, a strong reverence for God there's a big difference between choosing a style to please others and just letting music come out of you as you feel it
I get paid over $143 per hour working from home with 2 kids at home. I never thought I'd be able to do it but my best friend earns over 38k a month doing this and she convinced me to try. The potential with this is endless. Here’s what I've been doing.... Www.SalaryApp1.com
