Marilyn Monroe wore this white dress in the 1955 film The Seven Year Itch, directed by Billy Wilder. The dress was created by costume designer William Travilla and was worn in one of the best-known scenes in the movie. In 2011 at auction, it was estimated that the dress would sell for a price between $1 and 2 million, however the dress actually sold for more than $5.6 million ($4.6 million plus a $1 million commission).
